Our Approach

We bring together three core pillars for sustainable hyperscale design

At CleanArc, we’re always thinking about tomorrow – and tomorrow’s needs. We know the future holds astronomical computing demands for hyperscalers as cloud computing, artificial intelligence / machine learning, and other technologies fuel previously unimaginable capacity requirements.
We also know that current data center planning simply does not fit the changing paradigm. In fact, the industry needs a completely different approach that takes scale to new heights while also delivering more value and meaningful improvements in sustainability and renewable energy use.

An Intelligent, All-in-One Solution

At CleanArc, we’re uniquely positioned to tackle these challenges. We’ve assembled three critical pillars of hyperscale data center development (campus-scale land acquisition, energy structuring, and strategic production) into one powerful solution. The result? Our hyperscaler clients can meet modern, compute-heavy demands while achieving elusive sustainability goals. Let our team of data center veterans and power structuring experts share our vision with you:

Our Three Core Pillars

Developing at Scale
Addressing hyperscalers’ need for expansive growth drives the first tenet of CleanArc’s solution. CleanArc targets large land parcels in Tier I and Tier I-adjacent markets within a few milliseconds of the closest major network node or carrier hotel. Specifically, CleanArc acquires +500-acre parcels for deploying 300+ megawatts of data center capacity, giving tenants plenty of runway to grow over time. Part of our strategy involves locating parcels in desirable locations with rich connectivity and power infrastructure, but just outside the nation’s increasingly congested data center hubs.
Tackling Renewable Energy

Rather than treating renewable energy sourcing as an afterthought, we created a data center company that addresses clean energy needs as one of our founding pillars. In that vein, we launched an RFP in 2023 seeking proposals from renewable energy developers to support CleanArc’s hyperscale data center campuses under development. We received a robust response of 3 GW worth of proposals from more than 40 companies, and are finalizing agreements with various groups. Our energy partners will provide wind, solar, and other renewable sources to offset utility power consumption on our campuses. We call this approach “True Additionality,” because we’re going beyond financial engineering and other ineffectual efforts; instead, our efforts actually add net new clean energy capacity onto the electric grid.

Manufacturing Offsite
In an approach we refer to as data center “production,” rather than data center construction, CleanArc leverages off-site manufacturing to create the mechanical and electrical system components needed for hyperscale data centers. These components will be shipped to the data center site, where they can be rapidly installed on-site, enabling faster speed to market, and decreasing building delivery time by 15 to 25 percent.
